BRITTANY KOHLER

Brittany is a contemporary dancer and choreographer based in Tāmaki Makaurau, and a co-director of Dance Plant Collective. Brittany grew up choreographing performances with her twin sister Tash in the living room before beginning dance classes that took her throughout my school years. Now, she hold a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (Contemporary Dance) from Unitec Institute of Technology and is a registered Dance Movement Therapist with the DTAA (Dance Therapy Association of Australasia). Brittany works predominantly with DPC to choreograph and perform dance works, perform site-specific work at festivals and live events, and facilitate classes and workshops in the community. Her recent performances include Bella Wilson and DPC's STRUCTURE and performing Light Night at Auckland Arts Festival. Brittany's first full-length work for DPC 'Magnificent Remains' premiered in 2021. She enjoy exploring ideas that float by in the form of images or specific emotive states.
